Living Room Refresh

As many of you know, I am updated my house room by room and transitioning more from a farmhouse style to that of a more modern yet still rustic design. I am still keeping my key antiques and mixing them with some new items.

Without further adieu, here is my living room refresh. Check out the before and after.

BEFORE

AFTER

Do you like the subtle changes? You can see how things have changed. I have incorporated this new rug from a local bargain store,  which really brightens up the living room. I couldn’t find the exact same one but luckily this one is very similar. It also comes in a darker gray color as well.

I then wanted to accent chairs to create more seating for the space but also wanted something with more modern lines. I found these great wooden arm chairs at Target and added two to the space. Be sure to click the photos for direct links.

Our couches still are some of my favorites to date. They have held up perfectly for almost three years and easily wipe with a damp rag. Velvet is the way to go for all things kids and pets. We have them in both our home and our vocational rental. Here is our chesterfield couch and it also comes in multiple color options.

To add even more seating and also have a side table option to set books etc I went with these tufted ottomans. They act as foot stools, extra seating, and a place to set books etc. A great option for multipurpose use.

Another great table I added was this round coffee tablet from Target. I love the modern yet still rustic look and love having a round focal point between the two couches. Again I’m trying to mix more modern lines yet still keep my rustic charm. It’s harder to do than it looks! This table was the perfect in between.

Here are a few other items I added within the space. To Give it just a bit of rustic charm.

That wraps up the living room changes. Hope you enjoyed them. All other items are from TJMaxx. Until the next refresh. Thanks for stopping in!! xoxo
