Nashville Opryland Hotel Staycation

This past weekend we had the privilege of participating in the Christmas opening ceremony at Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Hotel. A Country Christmas at Opryland has been something I have enjoyed for over 20 years. As a native Nashvillian, it has become a custom for my family, friends, and I to take a special “date” to Opryland to enjoy the lights and Christmas festivities.

For twenty years I have enjoyed the beauty of Opryland Hotel. Not just at Christmas but all throughout the year going just to see the amazing features of the hotel itself. This hotel is made up of three giant terrarium filled spaces with live plants and so much more. Take a look yourself. Here is the “Cascade” atrium. Restaurants, waterfalls, live plants and beautiful lights to boot.

For this special holiday weekend, we got to participate in the Christmas Festivities. Each year Graylord makes the lighting of their outside lights something special. This year was no different. We got to participate in hearing the Oak Ridge Boys, watching professional iceskating, iceskating ourselves, drive bumper ice cares, participate in The Christmas Movie Pop Up experience, and more. Each experience made it feel like a special tradition and help us forget about the 2020 world we’ve lived in the past year.

Opyrland also offers fun for the kids inside the hotel. Breakfast with Charlie Brown, pictures with Santa, gingerbread house building, and more. Take a look at this map that shares the hotel Christmas experiences.

We also enjoyed the hotels indoor water park. Sound Waves is an amazing facility. It’s 84 degrees and warm inside and really makes you feel like you are outside at the beach. This is always a big hit with the kids. To say the kids enjoyed it is an understatement.

Opryland hosted my proms, many dates with my now husband, adventures with friends as teenagers, and so much more. If you visit Nashville it’s truly a must stop for its beauty. Check out the Delta Atrium with its own river boat ride inside.

Opryland hosts weddings and has beautiful places all throughout its grounds for their events. Take a look at his beautiful gazebo below. At night this place is spectacular. The lights from every angle will blow you away.

The hotel also has the Relache Spa and indoor swimming pool. There are also many restaurants and shops within each atrium. You never have to leave the hotel. Truly, there is something to see and do for an entire weekend away. OpryMills mall is also within walking distance on the grounds where you can enjoy amazing outlet shopping too.

Opryland will continue to be a beautiful place for us to enjoy each holiday season. Their atriums alone are beautiful to see but the entire Holiday experience is worth the trip.  Click HERE for more information on their holiday events.
