Episode 62: The Legacy of Home

In today’s episode, I discuss the idea of the legacy of creating a home. This topic is inspired by an article I wrote for a magazine (Eden & Vine). The idea of creating the legacy of a home goes beyond what you’re doing on a day-to-day basis. It is about consistency and the memories that will remain with your kids as they grow older. I share tips for creating a legacy of a home and how you can cultivate that same spirit in your own homes. Cultivating your own house creates a solid foundation based on the things you’ve learned and experienced so that you can pass it down to your own children and family. To the naked eye, virtues like love, forgiveness, intimacy, joy, and sorrow seem invisible, but in reality, they are integral to creating a safe space
  • What does it mean to create the legacy of a home? Rachel reads a recent article she wrote about the topic (2:19)
  • Rachel shares 4 hands-on ways she cultivates a home legacy: scripture, hospitality, coziness and comfort, and bedtime conversations (5:21)
  • All parents want the best for their children. Rachel discusses what she wants most for her kids and their future. She explains why she must act out the virtues and principles she believes in so that her children can learn. How can you tangibly create this environment in your own home? (10:42)
